This post is all about some insight to my real life as I have been asked these questions over and over again. It is time to give you more personal side of my life. Hope that you would like reading the post and if you have more questions please leave a comment on here or Instagram!
1-What is my “real”job?
Guys, I am actually a classically trained pianist. I have started to play when I was really young then I went to Istanbul State Conservatory for 10 years and graduated with distinction BMus in classical piano. I also hold a MA degree in cultural studies and digital media from Coventry University. I won’t be modest – I got distinction from my MA course too. 😁I have an obsessive personality and actually it did help with studies as I was a very enthusiastic student. Now, I am teaching piano full time, 7 days a week and I really love this job. It gives me great pleasure to make progress with each student and creating music that we all enjoy.
I personally believe that having a passion in our life is a great pleasure. Life can be so complicated and at the same time ordinary as eventually we all become trapped in a routine with family life, work and habitual everyday chores. My exit from routine is my love of fashion. I haven’t studied a fashion course and it’s really a consuming hobby in this point of my life, but I totally love sharing my outfits and style inspiration with you everyday. It is more accurate to describe myself as an Insta-blogger as my Instagram account and stories are always more effective than my actual blog. However, this will change as I am planning to write more about general fashion this year. Initially, people were judgemental about me posting pictures of designer bags and shoes and there were times I was indeed upset from this harsh disapproval, but now I can confidently say that being true to myself and carrying on was the best thing that I did, plus there is always an unfollow option!!
This is a question that everyone is asking me all the time. My husband is taking the majority of the pics that I post on Instagram. Normally, he is always in rush before leaving the house or doing something else so I force him to take an #OOTD pic with my iPhone camera 😛and, because he is a very sweet man, he generally says OK! (Although I am getting the impression that he is not always happy to be an #instahusband, I try not to think about this so much ) 😂 !!! When we have more time, David uses his Nikon D5500 digital SLR camera – this, of course, creates much better images. David is a solicitor, not a photographer in any form but he loves photography and he has done some landscape courses, my next wish is sending him to a fashion photography course! Apart from David, all my friends, sometimes strangers in the street – basically anyone can be my photographer. Beggars can’t be choosers. 🙈If I have an outfit to document, I don’t mind asking to a stranger to take my picture. If nothing works then there is always a mirror!! 😂🙈😂🙈
4-Why don’t I start a youtube channel?
The answer is very simple, because I don’t like watching 10 min long youtube video of what is in my bag or unboxing shoes. :)) I can’t see myself doing it, but at the same time I can understand that when people see you in a video, they find it more approachable and cordial, so I do share a fair amount of Insta-stories and very short videos of unboxing! Also it makes me so happy to get comments for my stories and share the moment with you straight away.😍🤗
Yes, I do sell them and I actually explained in a previous post how I do it. In case you missed that one, I normally sell all of them on #VestiaireCollective. However, I have received so many direct messages from you asking if I sell this bag or that shoe.. So from now on, when I decide to sell a bag it will also be on Instagram, so you can contact me directly. At the end of the day, there is not only one way of doing things. 🙃
There are so many brands and designers that I absolutely love but if I need to narrow down to 3, then these would be Fendi, Gucci, Miu Miu and of course Chanel!! I know it makes 4 but Chanel is always in there so we can’t really count it. 🙈I used to hate wearing too much colour a few years ago, but now I can’t get enough of it and Italian style is always more fun, colourful and enjoyable in comparison to French fashion houses.
